The Montenegrin water polo team finished third at the tournament in Trebinje for players under 16.
The tournament was marked by Montenegrin water polo player Andrej Durutović, who was named player of the tournament.
Montenegro defeated Croatia 14:9 (3:1, 5:2, 3:3 and 3:3) in the third-place match.
Luka Dragović and Stefan Vraneš led the team to victory and the bronze medal, scoring three goals each, while Matija Franeta, Dimitrije Milić, Danilo Roganović and Andrej Durutović scored two goals each.
The Montenegrin team was previously defeated by Serbia in the semi-finals, in an uncertain match, after penalties 13:12 (0:2, 4:1, 2:4, 2:1, 5:4).
In the regular part of the game, Stefan Vraneš was the most efficient with four goals, Andrej Durutović scored two, and Matija Franeta and Dimitrije Milić scored one each.
The Montenegrin team defeated Serbia in the league stage of the tournament 11:8 (4:3, 3:0, 3:3, 1:2), won against Germany 13:7 (4:1, 4:4, 3:1, 2:1), and was defeated by Hungary 7:6 and Croatia 10:8.
The tournament in Trebinje is part of the preparations for the European Championship, which will be held in Manisa (Turkey) from July 7th to 13th.
In the group stage of the competition, Montenegro's rivals will be Greece, Italy and Croatia.
