The third Boka Kotor derby in just seven days is coming up, perhaps the last one this season - the Jadran M:tel water polo players are playing for the title, and the current champion Primorac is looking to extend their streak and "earn" another match in the playoff final in front of their fans.
The team from Novi Sad leads 2:0 after defeating their biggest rival in a penalty shootout and has a chance to secure their first trophy of the season on Saturday (19 pm) in front of their fans.
And to bring the title back to their showcases after Primorac ended the dominance of Vasilije Radović and his friends last season.
Both games in the final brought drama - in the first, Jadran had a three-goal lead before having to take the penalty shootout, in the second, Primorac was up three goals... He allowed his opponent to come back, to have an attack to win, and then he got a golden break on the penalty spot.
"After two uncertain endings, there is no doubt that we are in for another tough duel. We have a match point in our pool, that's what we wanted and I am sure that the team is ready and will do everything to achieve another victory and title," said Matija Sladović, perhaps the X factor in Jadran's play in the second game.
Primorac had a great chance to tie the series...
"We started the second game very well and just kept increasing our lead, which could have been plus four in the third quarter. Then the nerves set in, we didn't manage to execute what we had planned in attack, so everything had to be decided on the five-point line, which is often a roulette wheel," said Primorac guard Nikola Brkić.
The champion doesn't want to give up:
"We need to do what we can - to fix some things in the game that didn't work in the last match, primarily in attack. We will try to win the third game and extend the final series," Brkić said clearly.
On Thursday, Budućnost One defeated Kataro 12:11 in a masterclass and won third place, so next season they will play on the international stage for the first time in history - they will appear in the group stage of the Eurocup.
