After six years, he leaves Škver, and he does so with style - after winning the championship title and being called up to the Montenegrin national team.

It's a great period behind Darko Đurović, the previous goalkeeper of Jadran, who in an interview with Meridiansports talked about the successes he had achieved, his call-up to the national team, and his future plans.

"We managed to crown an incredible season with a victory against Primorac, in a series with 3:0. We can be satisfied with the quality of the game. We had a large number of consecutive victories in the Regional League, and we were especially good in the second part of the season. We had an impressive record of 48 games and 38 wins. The only regret remains the unwon Montenegrin Cup trophy, which we missed after a good opening of the game, where Primorac showed a better game in the second part of the match and eventually won. From that moment until the end of the season, I think we showed an exceptional level of play, as evidenced by the final series," said Đurović.

It wasn't just the title that marked Jadran's season...

"We also brought the Final Four of the Regional League to Herceg Novi, although we could have played better there against the Jadran team from Split. Even after the end, that game was analyzed a lot, but after that we managed to consolidate and finish the season and the final series after three games," said Đurović.

After six years, he leaves the Adriatic.

"I have already agreed to be a member of Šabac from next season. I am looking forward to the future and hoping for the best. The mitigating circumstance is that I know a couple of guys. There are Aljoša Mačić and Andrija Korać. I talked to them a lot during negotiations with the Šabac team and they helped me make a decision. I hope that next season we will manage to give our best performances and win trophies."

Defended five-pointers against Primorac launched Đurović, who, along with Aleksandar Ivović, is most deserving of the title returning to Škver.

"Such is the life of an athlete. We knew that we would have a short period of time before the start of preparations, and that it would be a slightly longer break if we finished the series in three games. That was perhaps another additional motivation that pushed me personally to play and give the best possible games, and I'm glad that it all turned out well in the end," Darko Đurović continued in his interview for Meridian Sport.

The young goalkeeper is still waiting for his first major competition with the national team.

"A good season in the Adriatic. I think I'm getting better every year, that I'm progressing, I'm working hard and I hope I'll earn my place among the 13 players and give my best performance at the World Cup."

Working with coach Dejan Savić is of great importance for both Đurović and the other members of the Montenegrin national team.

"An exceptional coach. We all know his playing and coaching history. We can learn a lot, we are preparing, we are still getting to know each other even though we had those two competitions, the World Cup in Bucharest and Podgorica. We are working hard, diligently and hoping for the best."
