The Montenegrin water polo team arrived in Podgorica after completing part of its preparations in Makarska.
The "Sharks" are scheduled to hold five training sessions in the capital before heading to Budapest, where they will participate in a tournament with Hungary, Spain and Serbia.
Before arriving in Podgorica, coach Dejan Savić has shortened the list of candidates for the World Championships in Singapore - which start on July 11th - to 18 names, according to the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro.
Goalkeepers Petar Tešanović, Lazar Andrić and Darko Đurović, as well as Đuro Radović, Vasilije Radović, Miroslav Perković, Dušan Matković, Aljoša Mačić, Jovan Vujović, Balša Vučković, Dušan Banićević, Savo Ćetković, Dimitrije Obradović, Matija Sladović, Marko Mršić, Strahinja Gojković, Dmitrij Holod and Filip Gardašević, continue their preparations. The list will be shortened by two more names by the time of the trip to Budapest.
Compared to the first list, which was published on June 3rd, Vladan Spaić is no longer injured in the team (he did not travel to Makarska), as well as Danilo Radović, Petar Vujošević, Nikola Moskov and Vuk Drašković.
The trip to Singapore is scheduled for July 5th, and the final checks before the World Cup will be with the home team and Spain.
Our national team is in Group D at the World Cup, which includes Greece, Croatia and China.
Group A consists of Italy, Serbia, Romania and South Africa, Group B includes Australia, Spain, Hungary and Japan, and Group C includes Singapore, Canada, Brazil and the United States.
The first-place teams from the four groups will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the second- and third-place teams will play for a place in the top eight through a playoff.
