The Jadran M:tela water polo team defeated the host team Novi Beograd 12:11 tonight, in the third round match of Group B of the Champions League.
This is the second triumph for the Montenegrin champion, after also celebrating against Jadran from Split.
He also suffered a defeat against Pro Reka.
Coach Vladimir Gojković's team settled the question of the winner midway through the last quarter, when they took a 3:0 run to take a 12:9 lead three minutes before the end.
Jadran turned the game around with a series of four consecutive goals in the second and early third quarters, taking a 6:4 lead, and had a two-goal advantage three more times (7:5, 8:6 and 9:7).
The home team managed to equalize the score, but a series by the team from Herceg Novi followed and settled the issue.
The most efficient players in the winning team were Strahinja Gojković and Vasilije Radović with three goals each, Jovan Vujović and Đorđe Lazić scored two goals each, and Dmitri Holod, Matija Sladović and Jovan Vujović scored one each.
Miloš Ćuk and Vasilije Martinović each scored three goals for the Belgrade team.
Primorac will be the guest of the official European champion, Ferencvaros, tomorrow.
