The water polo players of Primorac and Jadran M:tela successfully completed the task in the semi-finals of the Montenegrin Cup and scheduled the second Boka Kotor derby of the season.
The biggest rivals will meet on Saturday at 20 pm in the "Dragan Trifunović" pool in Budva after victories against Buducnost One and Budva Budvanska Riviera, but for the people of Novi Sad, the job was far from routine.
Budva, in fact, created big problems for Vladimir Gojković's team, tied at the beginning of the last quarter (12:12), but also ran out of steam considering that they had a large number of suspensions...
The 4:0 run in just over four minutes was decisive, at the end it was 18:13.
The team from Kotor, who are defending the trophy, celebrated 21:7 against the team from Podgorica. And now it's time for the real thing, a clash with high stakes, a derby that brings the cup...
Primorac was better in the final in Nikšić last year, the finish that season went to the team from Škvere, who won the title, and the great opponents met once this season.
It was a little over 10 days ago when Primorac defeated Herceg Novi in the Premier Regional League and made the best possible overture to the Cup final.
Five Primorac players scored three goals against Buducnost - Nikola Brkić, Marko Mrsić, Jusuke Inaba, Nemanja Vico and Tin Perov.
"Everything was known after the first quarter. Maybe the competition system should be taken into account, because it is not fair to, in this case, Buducnost and Budva, who played a match two days ago and now participated in the semi-finals. It is clear that the Podgorica team was tired. The final follows, in which the chances are equal," said Primorac captain Draško Brguljan.
In the exciting second semi-final duel, Jadran was led to victory by Danil Merkulov and Strahinja Gojković with four goals each, while Marko Milić scored five times in Budva.
