Primorac water polo players are still waiting for their opponent in the Montenegrin Cup final.
Last night it was certain that it would be Jadran M:tel, who defeated Budva Budvanska Rivijera 18:13, but almost half an hour after midnight the Water Polo and Swimming Federation made an announcement.
And announced that the result of that match was not registered due to a material violation of the rules.
As stated, the appeal of Budva was upheld, so the match will continue on Saturday at 10 am, with the score tied at 8:8 with five minutes and 38 seconds left in the 3rd quarter.
"After the end of the match, Budva BDR filed an appeal against a material violation of the rules when a penalty was awarded to Jadran M:tel, which the competent body of the VPSCG accepted, and decided that, in accordance with the Rules of Water Polo Competitions, the match must continue "from the disputed moment", the Water Polo and Swimming Federation said in a statement.
After that controversial moment, Strahinja Gojković scored from the penalty spot for 9:8, and the team from Novalja broke the opponent's resistance in the final period and won convincingly, even though the score was 12:12 with seven minutes left.
The VPSCG announced that the final date remains the same (Saturday at 20 p.m.).
