The game against Spain is one to forget, as great as it is, and the European and world champion, it is clear that the Montenegrin water polo players were not good enough.
The final score of 14:6 speaks volumes, as the "Sharks" lost their chance to compete for a place in the semi-finals of the European Championship.
"The Spanish showed why they are European and world champions. We knew they wouldn't allow us too many chances, we missed at the beginning, and they broke away primarily because of their strong defense. We didn't respond to their pressure, so Spain deserved its victory. We have to correct our mistakes, because there are certainly many of them," Jovan Vujović told RTCG.
Next up are matches against the Netherlands and Serbia on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively.
"Even though we lost our chance to reach the semifinals, we're going for both wins. We won't give up, we need to gain experience in matches like this," said Vujović.
This is reality - is the message from Marko Mrsic.
"A tough defeat. It seems that we are not yet at the level to compete with the best teams in the world. That is the reality, we need to see where we are going wrong," stressed Mršić.
