The Montenegrin water polo players were the best in Malta, as expected when you know the names of your rivals. The "Sharks" did not have a worthy opponent until the final, and then they had to struggle hard against Georgia to return to the A division of the World Cup.
They knocked down their rival, who is still far from world class, in the last quarter (19:17), after chasing a lead throughout the match.
Because of all this, coach Dejan Savić was not too happy after the final.
"We can't be satisfied. The result is OK, we won - that's the most important thing. And the way we celebrated must be analyzed and above all there is sanctioning - there will certainly be discipline of individual players," Savić pointed out.
Seven games in the middle of the season suits few people.
"The first part was easy, but I think tournaments like this don't serve the purpose, because all the players come from domestic competitions and it's practically a disaster. Everything could have been done in three or four days and it would have been perfect, and this way we just lost certain things, like the clubs' certain preparation," Savić emphasized.
An example is our national team.
"Most of our players come from the Adriatic and Primorac regions, and in a few days they will have an exceptional final four tournament of the Regional League - when I say that, everything is clear," concluded Savić.
