The experiment with Greek Sakis Kehayas failed, Primorac's water polo players had a trophyless season, so returning to the home team was probably the most logical solution.
The people of Kotor have promoted their coach - for the 2026/27 season, trust has been given to Vid Lompar, who has been part of the coaching staff all these years.
Lompar is a Primorac man, he has been there through good times and bad, and this is the second time in his career to lead the Kotor team on his own, after the 2011/12 season.
"I am immensely pleased that I have been given the trust of the club's management to lead the senior team. Primorac is, above all, an indescribable and unconditional emotion for me. It is my club for which I have always given and will give my maximum," said Lompar and continued:
"Being the head of the coaching staff of a club to which you are very attached is a great honor for me, and of course an obligation that I gladly accepted. I want to help everyone in the club with my knowledge, experience and energy and for us all to be better together. I want Primorac to be "carried" by the children of Kotor who deserve it with their quality, behavior, desire and work, and for the players on the sidelines to feel that they belong to our club," says Lompar.
Primorac has had a disappointing season.
"For me, Primorac is the greatest and always will be. I have been through the most beautiful moments in the club's rich history, but also those that were difficult. These are all challenges that we face. Challenges motivate me, and there is no greater challenge than this."
The Kotor club wants to return the trophies to the ancient city.
"Some things will change immediately, some will take time. I want Primorac that will play recognizable water polo. A team in which everyone will take responsibility, starting with me. I don't want alibis, but that what depends on us is always at its maximum. The goals are for us all to look forward to victories and new trophies again. I want everyone to respect Kotor and Primorac. It would be frivolous to promise titles, but I promise one thing - "Stari will emerge for those who love him!", concluded Lompar.
It is already clear that Primorac will enter the next season with a completely new team.
Dimitrije Risticevic, Nemanja Vico, Savo Cetkovic, Luka Murisic and Djordje Stanojevic have left the club, and it is certain that there will be more departures because the future of Stefan Vidovic, Nikola Brkic... is unclear.
When it comes to new names - Dušan Banićević, Nemanja Ubović, Aleksandro Kralj and Marko Vavić have arrived so far.
