After expressing his belief that Montenegro will be awarded the organization of the 2028 European Water Polo Championship, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić also announced what the future Olympic swimming pool in Podgorica should look like.
The European Championship would be held at that pool in January 2028, and according to Spajić, there aren't many of those in Europe.
"Podgorica will get a sports facility, among the five best for water sports in Europe with a capacity of over 3,500 seats," Spajić wrote on the social network X.
Earlier today in Podgorica, he hosted the president and vice president of the European swimming and water polo organization European Aquatics - Antonio José Silva and Josip Varvodić.
"In addition to the existing indoor pool within the 'Morača' Sports Center, we are building a water sports complex, which is finally worthy of the success of our sharks," added Spajić.

At the aforementioned meeting, he also emphasized that the Government guarantees that by 2028 Podgorica will have a swimming pool worthy of the best European national teams, and that he believes that then, in front of full stands, Montenegro's entry into the European Union and the success of water polo players will be celebrated.
"The government is investing in sports infrastructure and strengthening the foundations for the further development of water sports, because we will finally have an Olympic-sized swimming pool available throughout the year," Spajić concluded.
