The company "Srbijavoz" announced today that it is ready to restart traffic after safety inspections of trains that are not operating due to a report of planted explosive devices.
"Srbijavoz" suspended traffic after last night's report of explosive devices placed on intercity trains and is cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) to investigate the case.
Also, counter-sabotage inspections of all trains are being conducted throughout the territory of Serbia.
These inspections, as announced, are nearing completion, after which it is expected that the Ministry of Interior will give approval for the re-use of trains as soon as possible, which will enable the establishment of regular rail traffic.
"All employees in our company's traffic services are at their workplaces and are ready to start the trains the moment we receive approval," Srbijavoza said in a statement.
The public company "Srbijavoz" announced this morning that it has suspended the operation of all intercity trains in Serbia in order to "protect the lives of passengers and train crews."
As they stated in a statement published on their website in the early hours of Friday morning, the company received a call containing an anonymous tip that explosive devices had been placed on intercity trains.
"We are forced to temporarily suspend the traffic of all intercity trains in order to protect the lives of passengers and train crews," the Srbijavoz website states.
"Srbijavoz" states in its statement that it is intensively cooperating with the Ministry of the Interior "to resolve the situation."
