He also said that he will not attend tomorrow's signing of the initiative's founding charter in Davos, but will instead attend a meeting of European Council leaders in Brussels.
US President Donald Trump has said that the use of the US military will not be necessary when it comes to Greenland.
"The military is not an option. I don't think it will be necessary, I really don't think so. I think people will show better judgment... and I don't think it will be necessary," Trump said ahead of a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Davos, Reuters reports.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Leke Rasmussen said on Monday that Trump's statement that he would not use force to take over Greenland was positive, although Trump's ambitions to acquire the island remain unchanged, Reuters reports.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Qatar have accepted Trump's invitation to join the "Peace Committee" for Gaza.
This was confirmed in a joint statement by the foreign ministries of those countries, as reported by Reuters.

Trump said it should be known within three weeks whether Hamas would agree to give up its weapons, and threatened action if the group did not do so.
"That's what they agreed to. They have to do it. And we'll know... in the next two or three days - and certainly in the next three weeks - whether they're going to do it or not."
"If they don't do it, they will be flattened very quickly. They will be flattened," Trump said, according to Reuters.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić met today in Davos with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, two officials confirmed that official preparations are underway for Rutte's visit to Montenegro, the Prime Minister's office announced.
Trump did not specify what kind of agreement he envisions could be reached with Denmark regarding the future status of Greenland.
"We'll see what happens," Trump said during the call, when asked what kind of deal he would like to reach with Copenhagen.
During an informal conversation after his speech, Trump said that the situation in Ukraine would have led to a new world war if Kamala Harris or Joe Biden had been elected president instead of him.
"Without us, I think Putin would have gone to hell. I think he could have started World War III. We won't have World War III. If I hadn't been elected, I think it would have developed in that direction, the situation would have been very bad."
He said that Ukrainian and Russian presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin are "stupid" if they do not reach a ceasefire agreement.
"If they don't, they're stupid. That goes for both of them, and I know they're not stupid. I don't want to offend anyone, but you have to come to an agreement, too many people are dying."
Trump said he had lowered the US tariff rate on imports from Switzerland, under pressure from Swiss companies, including Rolex, but that the rate could rise again.
"I reduced them because I don't want to hurt people. And we've lowered them to a lower level, that doesn't mean they won't increase again," he said.
He says Switzerland is just one example of "many places" that are "making a fortune" thanks to Washington, and that the US "keeps the whole world afloat."
"Without us, none of the countries present here would be the same. And we want to cooperate with these countries, we don't want to destroy them."

A strong and secure America also means a strong NATO, he said.
Trump said they want to build "the largest Golden Dome ever" in Greenland, which will also defend Canada.
Trump said they never asked for anything from NATO, "and we never got anything."
"We probably won't get anything unless I decide to use great force and force, and frankly, then you wouldn't be able to stop us. But I'm not going to do that, that's probably the most important thing I'm going to say today. People thought I was going to use force, but I'm not going to do that. All the US is asking for is a place called Greenland. We already had it and gave it back to Denmark after we defeated the Germans, the Japanese, the Italians and others in World War II."
Trump also referred to the overthrow of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela.
He believes that the country will recover economically quickly and that it will "do fantastically well."

Trump said he likes the Danes and that they have good leaders, but claims that only the United States can protect and improve Greenland.
"It is better and safer for Europe and for us. That is why I am immediately calling for negotiations, so that the purchase of Greenland by the US can be renegotiated, just as we have purchased numerous territories throughout history. Many European nations have done the same."
He claims that this would not harm NATO and would contribute to the security of the Alliance.
He also believes that NATO is treating Washington unfairly. "We give so much, we get so little in return."
Trump said that the United States was largely responsible for winning World War II and saving Greenland.
"If it weren't for us, you would now speak German, maybe a little Japanese. After the war, we gave Greenland back to Denmark. How foolish we were to do that. But how ungrateful they are today."
He reiterated that Greenland is strategically important to the United States for the security of that country and the world.
Trump asked those present if they wanted him to say a few words about Greenland, claiming that he didn't want to deal with it otherwise.
He said he has great respect for the people of Greenland and Denmark.
"But every NATO member has an obligation to defend its own territory, and the fact is that there is no nation or group of nations that is in a position to ensure the stability of Greenland other than the United States. We are a great power, much greater than what people realize. I think they could have realized that in Venezuela two weeks ago."
