The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released photos of a person they described as a "potential suspect" in connection with the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
FBI officials in the Salt Lake City office did not say who the suspect was. They released two photos of a person wearing pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, a hat and sunglasses.
The FBI has also offered a reward of up to $100.000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or group responsible for Kirk's murder, Reuters reports.
Investigators previously said they had found the gun they believed was used in the killing of Kirk while he was giving a speech at the University of Utah, but that they were still searching for the shooter.
Kirk, a 31-year-old commentator, podcaster and radio host who was a close ally of US President Donald Trump and credited with boosting support for the Republican Party among younger voters, was killed on Wednesday in a single gunshot in what Trump called a "heinous assassination."
