An extraordinary session should be held in the Parliament of Montenegro on February 15 to discuss the "Envelope" affair.

A session with only one item on the agenda - the "Koverat" affair, whose main actor is the DPS, coincidentally or not, would be held on the birthday of their leader Milo Đukanović.

The initiative for its holding was initiated by the Social Democratic Party (SDP), seeking support from opposition colleagues to schedule the session.

After today's position of the Presidency of the Democratic Front (DF), that it is ready to support this initiative, as told to Television Vijesti by the SDP, it should be submitted to the parliament already tomorrow.

Support for the initiative was absent from Democratic Montenegro and the Citizens' Movement URA, which still insist on boycotting the parliament.

The "Envelope" affair broke out with the release of a video of Atlas Group president Duško Knežević, in which he is seen handing an envelope allegedly containing around $100.000 to Slavoljub Stijepović, the former mayor of Podgorica and adviser to the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović.

Tomorrow, thirty opposition MPs will officially ask the President of the Assembly, Ivan Brajović, to schedule an extraordinary meeting to discuss the "Envelope" affair.

The initiative, which was launched by the SDP, received the support of the DF today, which is enough to convene the session.

"Until now, the representatives of the club of independent deputies, the representatives of the SNP-Demos club and others have signed, we expect that it will end today, the deputies of the SDP, and today we also received an announcement that the deputies of the Democratic Front will also sign. So, as far as I'm concerned, I'm sure that all those MPs who have participated in the work of the parliament for the past six months will sign the initiative. It is possible that we will have all the signatures by tonight, or possibly tomorrow. It is possible to present the signatures tomorrow, and then the session would probably be held on February 15," Mirko Stanić pointed out. (SDP).

"We believe that the public should be familiar with all the elements of the envelope affair through the parliamentary session. After all, the recording affair, which was much less important than this affair, received its testimony in the conclusions of the Parliament of Montenegro," said Stanić.

When asked if he expects the members of the ruling coalition to vote for the agenda at all, because without that there is no discussion, Stanić answers.

"Parliament is an expression of the electoral will of the citizens of Montenegro, and if someone respects the electoral will of the citizens, he will be in favor of discussing this extremely important issue and all aspects of the envelope affair in parliament," said Stanić.

However, the deputies of Democrats and Ura refused to put their signatures on the initiative, who still maintain the position that all institutions of the system should be boycotted.

To the question, isn't it in the interest of the public that this affair is still discussed in the Parliament, they answer.

"For us, the institutions of Montenegro are not legitimate at this moment, especially not the Montenegrin parliament," said Vladimir Martinović (Democrats).

The main conclusions that were proposed to the parliament for adoption at this session are a strong insistence that the state authorities give answers about what they have done in the "Envelope" case so far, and that the institutions show that the law in Montenegro is equal for everyone.
