The locals of Kuča have a hard time with wild and semi-wild horses. Only 15 kilometers from Podgorica, several herds of animals roam freely in that area, causing damage to households. At the meeting with the authorities, they were assured that they would write reports to unscrupulous horse owners, and they would allegedly catch and take away the wild animals.
"We are arguing with the horses, not just last night, but for three months and more, non-stop, every other morning, that's it. We can no longer deal with it, on the meadow, on the hay, on everything, on the fields, on the potatoes and so..." said Bela Živković
All this is happening about 15 kilometers from the center of Podgorica.
"They are a great danger for people who move there, as well as for children. In this part of Ubal, there are several groups, there are 20-30 horses each, and as far as the local community of Fundina is concerned, there are also wild horses that have never been captured, which are, as the locals say, about 200-300 horses. There were cases where a man was moving along the road and a horse ran into him and broke the windshield...", said the secretary of the local community of Ubli, Doljani and Fundina, Milovan Pavićević.
They have already spoken with the authorities, representatives of the Veterinary Administration, the Municipal Police and the Municipal Inspection and are waiting for a solution to this problem.
"In principle, we have agreed that the unscrupulous owners will be reported, that they will be punished on that basis, and that these wild horses will be captured and taken to some places," added Pavićević.
An unusual situation in the 21st century, so close to our largest city.
"I don't think the locals will put up with this anymore, because it's too much for everyone," said Rajko Živković.
