The civil movement URA presented new details in the case of irregularities on the runway of the Tivat airport, which, they claim, is a threat to traffic at that airport.
They published a letter that the director of the airport in Tivat, Radovan Marić, sent to the director of the airport, Danilo Orlandić, in which he states that there is no doubt that the runway must be repaired and that he does not want to be an accomplice in obstructing it.
Marić does not want to comment on the URE's accusations, but claims that the security at the Tivtas airport is absolute.
The Civil Aviation Agency assures the same.
In a letter sent in June of last year by the director of the Tivat airport, Radovan Marić, to the executive director of the CG Airport, Danilo Orlandić, it is stated, among other things, that the representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency, who controlled the airport in Tivat, confirmed that the asphalt layer had lost its bearing capacity and that it will break down and break.
Marić also informs Orlandić that the Agency has given a deadline of no longer than 10 days to eliminate these irregularities.
"Well, I wonder if, after these allegations, indications and adoption of the measure, anyone has a dilemma whether it is possible, whether we can, whether it is realistic, whether we have to carry out the renovation of the runway during this year, etc., not wanting to think about a product that can result in unforeseeable consequences in case of breakage and degradation of the load capacity of the runway, much less be an accomplice in further obstructing its rehabilitation, when it comes to the safety and lives of passengers of Tivat Airport," Marić's letter states.
A year later, even though the runway has not been repaired, Marić claims that the Tivat airport is absolutely safe for traffic. This is what he told "Vijesti" television in a short telephone conversation, not wanting to officially comment on the allegations from his letter to Orlandić, which the URA gave us for inspection.
The Civil Aviation Agency confirmed a year ago that irregularities on the runway of the airport in Tivat can negatively affect the take-off and landing of planes.
Recently, however, after the URA disclosed the entire case with the track, a new, amended report was published.
In that document, it is now claimed that there is no progression of asphalt collapse, but that the length of the irregularity has only increased.
The director of the Civil Aviation Agency from URE is therefore being invited to finally tell the public what is the state of the Tivat airport runway.
"So the same damages that were in April and May 2018, in April 2019, do not represent a danger and in the meantime have not been repaired. Can he, under full criminal, moral and professional responsibility, come out and say that it is safe to land on the Tivat airport platform and that air traffic at the Tivat airport is safe?", said Zoran Mikić.
The Agency replied to Television Vijesti today that there are no problems for now
If the inspectors of the Civil Aviation Agency concluded that there was a progression of cracks on the runway and that the safety of operations at Tivat Airport was called into question, the Agency would take more radical measures within its jurisdiction, including a ban on operations at the airport, as a last possible measure. measure. At the moment, there are no reasons for such measures, said the Civil Aviation Agency.
Because of this case, the URA has already filed a criminal complaint against the executive director of the airport, Danilo Orlandić, and they announce that they will either supplement it or file a new one against the director of the Tivat airport and authorized representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency.
