The plot follows Eugene Evans, a young man living in rural Texas while his family tries to survive during hard times. When he hears about notorious bank robber Alison Wells, who has a huge bounty on her head, Eugene sees an opportunity to change the fate of his family.
However, his search for her takes an unexpected turn when he finds her injured and hiding on his family's farm. As the authorities and bounty hunters tirelessly search for her, Eugene begins to doubt the truth of the allegations against Alison. Their relationship deepens as they both balance dreams, guilt and the danger that follows them.
