When a massive oil rig suddenly collapses without warning, what at first appears to be a simple industrial accident is soon revealed to be the signal of a much more serious threat—an ecological and human catastrophe that threatens to destroy everything in its path.
At the center of the story is Sofia, an engineer specializing in underwater operations, who embarks on an extremely dangerous mission to rescue trapped workers and prevent the spread of the disaster.
