The Special State Prosecutor's Office proposed to the Podgorica High Court that the former director of Atlas Bank Đorđe Đurđić be a witness - an associate in the case against Mihailo Banjević, the former vice president of the Atlas Group. As Televizija Vijesti learns, it will be known in the coming days whether this proposal will be accepted.
In that case, in addition to Banjević, Serbian citizen Dejan Sekulić, the godfather of Atlas Group president Duško Knežević, as well as Duško Đukanović and the former executive director of Atlas Bank, Vesna Furth Pavlović, are on the list of suspects.
They are accused that starting in March 2009, as bank managers, by abusing the official position of the suspect Sekulić, at his request, they obtained a financial benefit, that is, they caused damage to Atlas Bank of almost six hundred thousand euros. They did this by granting him a multi-cent cash loan based on a non-existent mortgage.
This would not be the first time that Đurđić was assigned the role of a cooperating witness.
He also appears as a witness in the "Karbon" case, in which the Prosecution accuses Knežević and his associates of damaging the company Global Karbon for 1,9 million euros.
In addition to this, the possibility that he will appear as a witness for the prosecution in some other cases, and perhaps even in the one that the Special Prosecution formed against Knežević's money-laundering group, whose member, according to the investigators' suspicions, was also the leader of the PzP, is not ruled out. by Nebojša Medojević. Although he has not yet been officially heard, the former mayor of Podgorica, Slavoljub Stijepović, is also included in the investigation.
