The inventor from Kolašin, Zoran Ilinčić, claims that his inventions - earthquake shock absorbers - could be widely used in protection against this natural disaster.
Ilinčić has made more than a hundred different machines and 18 patents, and this month he expects the serial production of three patents, which have found their application in the production of bicycles and energy saving in buildings.
One of the models of earthquake shock absorbers consists of three parts, one of which is attached to the building, the other to the ground, and they are separated by rollers placed in between. At the moment of an earthquake, the ground starts to move in the horizontal plane and a little in the vertical plane.
"It doesn't have a destructive effect in the vertical plane - it has a destructive effect in the horizontal plane. The essence of the problem is that the building stays in place while the ground oscillates. I solved that simply, so it can go left and right, and only four to five percent of the energy is transferred from the ground to the building," Ilinčić told TV Vijesti.
He also studied the possibility of making earthquake alarms, but this is difficult because the earthquake shows that it will happen only half a minute to a minute before the main shock, which is insufficient for any warning.
Kolašinac reminds that official science does not yet have reliable methods to predict the place and time of an earthquake.
"At this time, there is no reliable method. That method with radon gas has been the most reliable so far, but not one hundred percent safe, because radon can be in the future earthquake zone, or it may not be there, so then you can't determine anything ."
Until now, Ilinčić has made more than a hundred special machines. He has 17 inventions, which are protected by a patent. He is known to the public for his invention – the longitudinal wing of the aircraft”, which he claims can reduce fuel consumption by 17 to 20 percent. The invention was born after he noticed that the energy of the gases at the exit of the jet engine was not being used.
"And then I created a system in which that gas does not come out of the jet engine, it goes past a surface that I called the longitudinal wing of the aircraft, and considering that it goes at a higher speed than the speed of the plane, a pressure difference appears from that gas and this air on that plate, which results in a vertical force of ascent."
During this month, Kolašinac expects the start of three series production of patents, for bicycles and window insulation, which will save energy up to 12 times. Although often misunderstood in the country of few opportunities, Zoran has for more than four decades of scientific work provided more than fifty new theoretical solutions to problems in the field of mechanical engineering and related sciences, and is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions.
