Cattle that roam freely on the Ulcinj - Ada Bojan road have been a great danger for drivers for years. In the municipality, after a series of attempts, they admit that they are powerless to deal with this problem.
"Despite the fact that we tried to come up with a quality solution in terms of infrastructure, we found housing for the livestock that would be caught, we entrusted the JP Municipal Services to deal with the actions of catching and housing, unfortunately I have to admit that the problem is still evident today" , said the vice president of Ulcinj Municipality, Hatidža Đoni.
Đoni says that all the links in the chain that are needed to solve this problem are not functioning properly, and the main link is the Municipal Police, on whose orders the workers of the Municipal Enterprise go out into the field and catch stray cattle.
"I think that our municipal police, which has that segment as part of its responsibilities, is not dealing with this problem in a quality way," said Đoni.
The communal police were not in the mood to talk about this topic, and as TV "Vijesti" found out, the last time they gave an order to catch stray cattle was almost three months ago.
Livestock owners also have to be much more responsible, but in the municipality they still emphasize the work of the competent authorities.
"We must not have emotions towards anyone, we must not look down on anyone, because I see that this is a much greater danger for citizens than one illegal parking," Đoni added.
The municipal police deal with this problem on the eve of the season, but the Ulcinj-Ada Bojan road is busy all year round. There have also been fatalities in Štoj, precisely because of cattle that freely roam the road.
