At the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), two patients with lung tumors were operated on using a minimally invasive method.
They were operated on by a surgeon from Spain, Diego Gonzalez, who resides at the Clinical Center as a consultant, and he implemented the most modern method in thoracic surgery.
"It was a difficult case, we did not expect it to be so difficult, with an inflammatory reaction. It is a younger patient, but everything went well," said Gonzalez.
Gonzalez operates around the world, and this is his second visit to the Balkan countries. Montenegrin doctors are satisfied with the arrival of a colleague from Spain, who also gave them a lecture.
"I think that, at the very least, his arrival today is an encouraging moment, both for the youngest colleagues who opt for this type of surgical branch, and for us who have been trying for the last few years to implement this procedure in regular surgical work," said the head of the Center for thoracic surgery Bojan Milačić.
In the Clinical Center, a new operation monitoring system was promoted today, so doctors will be able to educate themselves in this way, observing complex surgical procedures.
"While the operation itself is in progress, a system has been installed in our room where two cameras can be used to monitor the entire operating field where the surgeon is performing the operation, and through another system you can hear the comments of the main operator, so from today this system will be available in the Clinical Center", he pointed out. is the director of KCCG Jevto Eraković.
Patients come out of surgery like the one performed today with minimal stitches, so they go home quickly.
