See how KFOR has been maintaining security in Kosovo for 20 years

More than 20 years have passed since the arrival of the first KFOR forces in Kosovo. After the NATO bombing in 1999, 55 thousand peacekeepers were deployed throughout Kosovo.

The NATO mission in that country currently numbers 3,5 thousand soldiers from 28 countries.

Although there has been a drastic reduction in the number of soldiers, the goal of the operation has not changed in the past 20 years - maintaining security and order in that country.

The Geopolitika magazine team was part of the NATO media team that visited Kosovo last week.

We spoke with KFOR soldiers, carabinieri guarding the bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica, the abbot of the monastery in Visoki Dečani, the only religious building in Kosovo under the protection of KFOR, as well as the Montenegrin member of this mission, Lt. Col. Radivoje Radović.
