Tihomir Stanić, television and theater director and actor, currently known for his role in the series "My Father's Killers", spoke to Boje jutra from Belgrade and reflected on the current situation and its influence on the development of art, but also announced work on a television series about Diana Budisavljevic.
"Due to the current situation, everything has stopped, the performances that were scheduled have been postponed and canceled, but I have adapted to the situation, I am resting and spending time in the yard and with the dog," said the famous actor.
As he says, he is not missing anything at the moment and feels that this will pass quickly, so he is using the time to rest and work out further plans.
"We will shoot the fifth season - My Father's Killer, and maybe the sixth, so I use this time for work and planning," he announced.
Referring to the current situation in Serbia and Montenegro, Stanić points out that in the Balkans there is a tendency among people to attribute superhuman abilities to politicians.
"The circus is present especially in smaller communities, where the system can be characterized almost as a dictatorship, and the people in power grab power, titles and various powers," says Stanić and adds that citizens look for a certain amount of security in such figures.
He adds that after the end of the epidemic, things will obviously be difficult, as well as that the situation in Serbia has long been outside the limits of normality and that the circumstances must change.
"A friend recently told me - capitalism is dead, only no one has announced it yet, and I'm not sure that the theater, which has survived for thousands of years as a human need to communicate, will be able to withstand the conditions that are being planned," says the actor and adds that he hopes that the theater will be able to adapt by changing its form and working outdoors.
As he says, in one period of his career he wanted to give up acting, because he was not satisfied with the conditions, the triviality of his relationship to art and the fact that he did not meet like-minded people, however, he never succeeded.
"Failure in those attempts to give up made me realize that acting is my inevitability, so I continued to do what I am good at and feel good about, and now I can say that I am satisfied with what I achieve," he notes.
He adds that the character of Marjanović in the series "My Father's Killers" brought him a new kind of self-confidence, because, as he says, it was a well-written role that he had not had the opportunity to interpret before, and it also brought him a large number of acquaintances with policemen who after the role they appear more and more often.
The well-known Serbian actor, exclusively for Boje jutra, also announced his work on the television series about Diana Budisavljević, about whom a film was recently made in the Croatian production "Dnevnik Diana Budisavljević".
"My desire to film something about Diana Budisavljević was already known, so the producers of the Croatian film did not fail to invite me to participate," says Stanić.
"Nevertheless, I will make a television series about Diana Budisavljević, in which the first episode will be called - Milica, and the last - Jelena, and each episode will follow the story of an individual child who was saved thanks to Diana Budisavljević", announced Stanić.
As he says, the episodes will follow the path of the rescued children towards identity and growing up, and will also talk about the consequences of hiding the truth and the circumstances of that period that had a devastating effect on the human soul and growing up.
"I grew up in a village near Jasenovac, I have a large number of memories that tie me to that region, and working on this series is a special task for me," said the famous actor.
