If the borders are opened from June 15 or in the second half of June, it is certain that people will not all immediately rush to travel, which would mean that the season would start in August, said State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Damir Davidović, visiting Boje jutra.
"Staying on the beach will only be possible with respect for social distance. Beach furniture will probably be used but with respect to clear rules. "Daily disinfection of the space will be mandatory. There will be two deckchairs and an umbrella on the 16m2 space," said Davidović.
He added that the biggest chances are for tourists from the region, from the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe to come to the coast.
"The largest number of reservation arrangements for April and May have been cancelled. July and August are not canceled for now," Davidović pointed out.
He points out that what is troubling the economy is the issue of liquidity, and that it is still unknown whether the price for beach tenants will be cheaper this year.
"We are doing a financial analysis. The pandemic must not be used for problems not caused by the pandemic. We will see how many problems there are and what we can correct," said Davidović
He also emphasized that the need for employment during the season will not be the same as compared to last year.
"We will have much fewer visitors. As for the winter season, it was better in January and February, better than last year. The coast got out because of the good weather, tourism was affected in the north," concluded Davidović.
