The guest of Boja jutra, Dr. Marija Nikolić, an infectious disease specialist at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, who has been on the front line of the fight against Covid-19 for the past two months, shared what doctors were dealing with in the past period.
"In the past two months, 36 patients with covid were treated at the Infectious Disease Clinic, and we mostly treated patients who, in addition to respiratory problems, also had pneumonia," said the doctor.
As she said, the patients who required hospitalization were mostly elderly and had previous illnesses of another kind.
"We got acquainted with the experiences of other countries in the treatment of the coronavirus, on the basis of which we based our activities, for now we have some clinical knowledge, however, we are still getting to know the coronavirus," she adds.
Nikolić pointed out that the Clinic for Infectious Diseases was fully prepared for the treatment of covid patients and that all measures were taken in time, which will provide a response to a possible second wave.
"It is important not to forget that the virus is still there, which is why each individual bears a certain responsibility and can contribute to either suppressing or spreading the disease," notes the doctor.
