World Letter Writing Day, a forgotten tradition that had a special charm

Today marks the World Day of Letter Writing, on the occasion of which the teacher, Zdenka Popović, spoke about this, mostly forgotten tradition, for Boje jutra.

"It was a long time ago when I sent or received the last letter, and for twenty years I corresponded with my godmother who lives in Belgrade, we met at the sea," said the teacher.

She points out that the speed of modern communication generally does not correspond to the tradition of writing letters.

"Letter writing needs to be given time and concentration, to be given some intimacy, and I think today's generations do not know about that and would not have the patience to write and wait for a letter," notes Popović.

The teacher notes that writing letters follows the observance of spelling rules.

"First comes the introductory part with a capital letter, then a comma and a new line, and later the content of the letter, with a mandatory signature," she adds.

As he says, in the past, waiting for letters was a special charm.

"The new generations should return empathy and emotionality to all segments of life, and perhaps through writing letters, which they can do today and make a dear person happy with a letter," concluded teacher Popović.
