The project "3DP research and innovation for Covid-19" of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro in cooperation with the Science and Technology Park, the Clinical Center and the University of Vrije from Brussels received a grant of 38.500 euros from the Montenegrin Ministry of Science.
The team will work throughout the summer on the design of a new product – a 3D printed mask that will show if a person has a high temperature. They will be made of two types of materials – temperature-dependent filament and upgraded PLA filament.
Dr. Milena Đukanović, guest in "Colors of the Morning", said that the project will last until the end of October and that she expects a unique product by which Montenegro will be recognized in the fight against Covid-19.
"We will make a special mask design. The largest part of the budget will go to equipment that will be used further. Now we will have much better equipment. Our focus is to hire as many young researchers as possible," said Đukanović.
Velibor Bošković from the Science and Technology Park says that the role was to participate in the project with joint efforts.
"In the future, we will support such projects and participate in the creation of new ideas. We will work together on the complete implementation. It has been shown that the potential of 3D printing can be great," said Bošković.
