Although Tunjevo, Slap and many other places along the Zeta River are popular when exploring the surroundings of Danilovgrad, this time we are taking you to Mount Studeno, which is located at 1.200 m above sea level, and is about 40 minutes away from the center of this municipality.
For 32 years, Vera Šofranac, a citizen of Danilovgrad, has been enjoying the nature of Mount Studeno.
She used to come to the family cottage with her children - and now she continues the tradition with her grandchildren.
Thus, her nine-year-old grandson Strahinja does not miss the opportunity to spend his summer vacation right here with his grandmother, sister and brother.
Vera's closest neighbor, Zoran Kovačević, replaces the city with a mountain almost throughout the year.
When he started building a house a decade ago, he had no idea that this mountain would become his home.
The Tourist Organization (TO) of Danilovgrad points out that there are about 350 cottages in this area, and that Mount Studeno has been popular for years, especially for the residents of Danilovgrad, Nikšić and Podgorica.
Although surrounded by untouched nature, the locals still believe that changes are needed to make their lives easier and more pleasant, even for 10 days.
However, due to the current situation with the coronavirus, there is every chance that the renovations will have to wait, and the director of TO Danilovgrad Ivan Dragojević hopes that in cooperation with the Municipality, he will soon reconstruct the dilapidated mountain lodge.
