The people of Ulcinj have no confidence in the Bar covid hospital, Tomanović: I don't want to deal with conspiracy theories

Distrust in the Bar covid hospital is the number one topic in Ulcinj.

Citizens indicate that there is not a day without more deaths in that hospital, and one day there were as many as seven.

That's why the people of Ulcinj, through social networks and local governments, are asking for an answer - who is treating the infected in Bar.

The hospital, on the other hand, says that they have enough staff and that they are experienced, but also that younger doctors work in the covid clinic, since some older ones are kept away due to the risk of not getting sick.

The Vice-President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Hatidža Đoni, does not doubt that the doctors and the entire medical staff of the General Hospital in Bar are making superhuman efforts to save the lives of those suffering from covid, but she is worried - whether that hospital, which is responsible for Ulcinj and all coastal cities, has enough adequate staff .

She is particularly concerned about the number of deaths, which is growing every day.

"Every human life is important, but unfortunately we have a lot of young people. What I don't want to deal with are conspiracy theories. What arises as a logical question is whether the hospital in Bar, with such a difficult epidemiological situation , sufficiently staffed. This is now a crucial issue for me, regardless of their engagement and efforts," said Hatidža Đoni, vice-president of the Municipality of Ulcinj.

In the hospital in Bar, they assure us that the infected in the covid ward are taken care of by experienced doctors.

"The most experienced doctors work in the covid department. The head of the internal department, the head of anesthesia, the head of the infectious department, an epidemiologist. These are the doctors who come to the hospital every day at seven and leave the hospital around seven in the evening, or later. The covid department has 110 beds and occupancy it was never over 72-73," said Dragoslav Tomanovi, director of the General Hospital in Bar.

It is true, on the other hand, as pointed out by disgruntled citizens, that young doctors work in the covid clinic, but Tomanović does not dispute this because older doctors were removed because of their age and some diseases they have.

"We expect that these younger doctors, even if they eventually get infected, will have a mild clinical picture and will not be life-threatening. We have most often hired younger doctors in the covid clinic, who respect medical protocols and now - covid treatment, for each patient, consulting experienced doctors" , said Tomanovic.

He believes that there is no reason for citizens not to trust the Bar hospital and doctors.

As he says, since June 15, three and a half thousand patients have passed through the Covid clinic, and over 600 patients with the most severe clinical picture have been successfully treated in the ward.

"The problems caused by the covid infection have not escaped even much more developed countries. Of course, we have a problem in the treatment of this completely unknown disease. But that's how it is. And we know that it is similar to this in Nikšić, and in Pljevlji, and in Berane, and in Podgorica. now something that doesn't exist is illusory. 56 patients have died so far," Tomanović said.

Tomanović also says that Bar doctors are in daily contact with their colleagues from the Clinical Center, and that every serious patient is discussed at the interclinic level.
