Borovinić Bojović: There will be no doctors from the disbanded NKT in the new bodies

According to unofficial information from the Ministry of Health, the new measures that will follow the expiration of the current epidemiological measures on December 8 will not be more rigorous than the previous ones.

Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović, after the press conference on the announcement of the diplomatic Christmas bazaar in Podgorica, reiterated that a commission will be formed in the Ministry of Health and a Council under the Government, which will deal with the strategy of fighting against the coronavirus in the future.

She revealed that doctors from the already disbanded National Coordinating Body for Infectious Diseases (NKT) will not sit in those bodies.

"At the beginning of next week, we will propose and adopt a new set of measures that will come into force immediately. I would not comment on the measures themselves in detail now, Tuesday is very close to us, so very soon all our citizens and the media will find out what is contained in to the new set of measures we are proposing," said the minister.

Borovinić Bojović confirmed that already at the second session of the Government, the Council responsible for monitoring the fight against the coronavirus will be formed, and that the Ministry of Health will soon form a commission that, as she said, will act exclusively on the principle of expertise and apoliticality.

When asked if there will be doctors in those bodies who were in the previous National Coordination Body, the minister answers as follows:

"We have agreed in principle that there will be completely new experts in the commission who will be personnel solutions based on the principle of absolute apoliticality and non-selectivity."

Changing the strategy in the fight against the virus will also mean different communication with citizens.

"We will do our best to carry out an appropriate reorganization in relation to the way campaigns have been conducted so far, i.e. the fight against the coronavirus, and we will do our best to introduce some innovative measures, to focus especially on crisis communication with citizens, which we think is not at all didn't even exist, and that way we can primarily get closer to our citizens," explained Borovinić Bojović.

Until Tuesday. On December 8, the measures of the former National Coordinating Body will apply, including a ban on movement from 19 p.m. to 5 a.m., the operation of shops and restaurants until 18 p.m., and a ban on intercity traffic on weekends.
