Streets without sidewalks, walking in rubber boots through puddles, holes and mud, and only a few workers on construction sites - this is how the previous year could be briefly described when it comes to the reconstruction of numerous streets in the capital.

Residents of Miloja Pavlović Street, in Gornja Gorica, have been waiting for more than 10 years to see the machines in their neighborhood.

After the works, which began way back in 2008, when the first phase was completed, patience paid off, says Vojo Lubarda.

"I waited while it was being worked on before, but it wasn't like this. So this was necessary, you couldn't pass, especially when it rained," says Lubarda.

He is satisfied with what was done, because when it was raining it was impossible to pass.

And in Zagorič, in Trifuna Đukića Street, the tenants have no reason to be satisfied because the works are not visible here.

"Since your last visit, nothing has changed. We are hopeful, they promised to come and finish it for us, but nothing has changed," says tenant Jovo Jokić.

Jokić notes that the problems arose because of bad reconstruction.

The resident of Zabjela, Vukojica Vojinović, believes that a poorly constructed street is the most expensive, and he, together with his neighbors, addressed our newsroom several times. The authorities responded to persistent appeals. But it could have been better, believes Vojinović.

And while the end of several months of reconstruction of certain streets in Podgorica is still awaited, Mayor Ivan Vuković optimistically announced before the end of 2020 that the city coffers this year will be "heavy" with over 93 million euros.

Citizens therefore hope that work will be done faster and better, and that not everything will remain on promises.
