Raičević: The epidemiological situation in Bar is not satisfactory, if the hospital is full we have a "Plan B"

In the General Hospital in Bar, which is the covid center for the Montenegrin coast, more and more patients are being treated for the consequences of infection with the coronavirus, Dušan Raičević, president of the Municipality of Bar, said in Colors of the Morning on TV News.

"According to the last section, 87 patients are being treated in the hospital's covid center, which represents almost 90 percent capacity occupancy. On the other hand, the Bar Health Center records close to 150 patients per day, which indicates the fact that the epidemiological situation is not satisfactory level. Of the 87 patients who are currently being treated in our clinic, 20 patients are in the intensive care unit. Most of them are on invasive ventilation and are in a very serious state of health," said Raičević.

In the event that it is fully occupied, Raičević points out that they have a plan.

"The management of the Bar hospital is already preparing that "Plan B", that is, the potential expansion of the capacities of the covid center itself by some 10 to 15 beds. We sincerely hope that the situation will improve in the coming days and that we will not end up in that position," Raičević said.

The President of Bar Municipality says that there are enough doctors.

"The measures that have been in force since last week are respected. We have certain violations of the measures, first of all, the prohibition of movement from the residential building after 21 p.m. Our Municipal Police with members of the Police Administration controlled catering facilities and 18 controls were carried out, and one violation was recorded from by the restaurateur and charged a fine of 2.500 euros," he said.

Raičević states that they currently have enough equipment, but they are worried about the lack of certain medicines.

"At the moment, our healthcare system has enough equipment. What worries me is the increasing number of information I receive from patients and their families, that it is difficult for them to obtain drugs used to prevent blood clotting. I also appeal to the Ministry of Health and the Fund of health to provide sufficient quantities of medicines for the health system in Bar and thereby influence the recovery of patients," Raičević said.
