Citizens will soon receive a Digital COVID Certificate that will contain the results of a PCR test for the coronavirus, data on vaccination status or previous infection, Aleksandar Sekulić, director of the Directorate for Digital Health in the Ministry of Health, announced in "Boja jutra" on TV Vijesti.

"During July, everything will be ready and put into operation. The very ease of use will be based on the QR code, which will be a type of protection, to prevent misuse. The certificate can only be valid with an attached personal document, a valid identity card or passport," he explained.

The Directorate for Digital Health is also working on the implementation of a software solution - a mobile application that will be the holder of the certificate itself.

"The whole process and the certificate can be used in any place and at any time, even in a place where there is no internet," he said.

Sekulić further clarified that the population, which does not use smartphones, will be able to collect the certificate from the selected doctor.

"The goal is to become part of the European Certificate system and to be connected to their system. The certificate will be used mostly on trips, that is, at the border crossings themselves. This represents the certainty that we have been vaccinated, have had Covid or are negative for the coronavirus", he explained.
