Igor Božović from Kotor and his son Vladimir Božović, who were arrested in Portugal in April on the warrant of NCB Intertpol Podgorica, were extradited to Montenegro today.

After the hearing in the Podgorica High Court, they were taken to the Investigation Prison.

Igor Božović was wanted since August 2017, while his son Vladimir was on the run from the investigators since September 12, 2016.

Father and son Božović were arrested in the city of Redondo, and the police found a gun and forged documents from Bulgaria and Croatia with other identities.

"Officials of the Sector for Fighting Crime - Department for International Operational Police Cooperation INTERPOL - EUROPOL - SIRENE, with the assistance of officers from the Special Purpose Police Sector, carried out the extradition from Portugal to Montenegro of two high-ranking members of an organized criminal group from Kotor. IB (57) and VB (30) from Kotor were extradited to Montenegro today. According to operational data, the aforementioned suspects are high-ranking members of an organized criminal group from Kotor, and international warrants have been issued for them since 2017, after which targeted search activities began." , it was announced from the Police Administration.

They remind that those mentioned were arrested on the international warrant of our country on April 13 in Portugal, after a months-long investigation of a targeted search.

"IB is wanted by order of the High Court in Podgorica in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings against him in Montenegro for the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization. He is suspected to have been in the area of ​​Kotor, Tivat and Tivat since the beginning of November 2011 Budve organized a criminal organization whose aim was to commit criminal offenses punishable by a prison sentence of four years and a heavier sentence, in which they personally or through members of the group recruited new members of the organization who accepted membership in order to gain illegal profits and power , and the operation of the organization is planned for a long time with the application of precisely defined rules and internal control."

"VB is wanted according to the order of the Higher Court in Podgorica in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings that are being conducted against him in our country for the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization, as a co-perpetrator of the criminal offense of attempted extortion, as a co-perpetrator of a serious crime against general security in conjunction with criminal illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials. It is suspected that he, within the framework of a criminal organization, had the task of using violence and intimidating other persons with the aim of committing criminal acts of extortion, acquiring and storing weapons and explosives, bulletproof vests, as well as maintaining connections with certain members of the criminal organization organization in order to convey the instructions given to him by one of the IB organizers," the police concluded.
