And officially, as of today, Gordana Radojević is no longer the director of the Directorate for Statistics.
This was decided at an electronic session of the Government, with the explanation that the Report on the work of Monstat for the past year is full of irregularities.
Radojević told Television Vijesti in a telephone conversation that she learned about the dismissal through the media and that she has not yet received a decision.
He claims that the work of the Administration for Statistics was transparent and that the motive for her dismissal was political, that is, it was related to the organization of the population census.
Her lawyer, Miloš Vukčević, announced that it was a case of legal fraud by the Government and announced a lawsuit to the Administrative Court.
"Students of the Faculty of Law also know that the Government of Montenegro was not allowed to issue a decision on dismissal before conducting an oral hearing, where it would have been possible for the dismissed director to participate in the proceedings and declare the facts and circumstances significant for her dismissal. After that, she had to be was informed about the results of the examination procedure, on which she had the right to express herself within the legal term of at least three days. Only after that could the Decision on dismissal possibly be passed," Vukčević said.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare denies that this dismissal is political and says that Radojević was officially informed on September 9 about the initiation of the procedure for her dismissal.
In that document, it is stated that one of the reasons for the dismissal is the failure to submit financial data in the Monstat Work Report for last year.
"The fact that the Directorate for Statistics did not submit the Work Report on its own initiative, in accordance with Article 74 of the Law on State Administration, was characterized as an irregularity, but did so only after the insistence of the Ministry of Finance. "Radojević was dismissed also because of the Ministry of Agriculture's indication that Monstat, by not publishing the collected data on the structure of farms from 2016, made it impossible to implement the international grant project," according to the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare.
Radojević was dismissed after several public insistences by the leaders of the DF, who demand that the population census be held by the end of the year. The Government did not answer Televizija Vijesti when it could adopt the Bill on the Census, and the draft was prepared by Monstat a few months ago.
