Šćepanović said that it would be good for Marojević to be part of the UCG Board of Directors.
"Simple, because it is the Government's right to propose a member of the Board of Directors who, as one of 15 equals, will take care of the execution of all those items from the obligations that the members should commit to...", Šćepanović said.
Uljarević stated that she does not see the contribution of any cleric in the work of any administrative body of the University of Montenegro.
"And this discussion is an indicator of where we have gone as a society..." said the director of the CGO.
When asked where she sees Marojević's greatest contribution, if he is appointed as a member of the Board of Directors, Glušica answered:
"I don't see any particular area where he can contribute, except for thinking about the welfare of the University in the interests of the state. His education does not determine him for any of the areas decided by the Management Board," said Glušica.
Glušica said that the Management Board of UCG cannot file an appeal against the Government's decision to appoint Marojević as their member. She said that the session of the UCG Board of Directors is scheduled for January 27.
Ćulafić said that the Ministry of Education will not review the decision on the appointment of Marojević as a member of the UCG Board of Directors.
Ćulafić said that "the mantle that this man wears was not a reference to be proposed".
Uljarević repeated that by saying that Marojević did not have the blessing of the Church, he denied all those who said that he would represent the interests of the Government...
Glušica said that she would not mind the controversial appointment of Marojević if he were a professor at the University's Faculty of Philosophy.
"Absolutely not, because he would be a member of a state institution," said Glušica.
Šćepanović said that one question can now be asked - whether the election of a future member of the Board of Directors is legitimate.
"If it's legitimate, we have nothing to talk about here. If it's illegitimate, there are ways you can see if the procedure is legal," Šćepanović said.
CGO Executive Director Daliborka Uljarević said that it was crucial in everything that Marojević did not have the blessing of the Church to come to the show and talk.
"He is primarily connected to the Church, not to the Government of Montenegro," said Uljarević
Marojević was invited to be a guest on "Reflektor", but he explained to the show's editor that for that he needed the blessing of the Church, which he claims had nothing to do with his appointment.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Damjan Ćulafić, said that the fact that Nikola Marojević comes from church circles helped him to be elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Montenegro and that it "only pays off".
- How does the academic community comment on the decision of the founder, i.e. the Government of Montenegro, that Nikola Marojević, parish priest of Nikšić and head of the publishing service of the Diocese of Budimlja-Nikšić, will be a new member of the Board of Directors of the University of Montenegro?
- Does the appointment of a cleric to the University's Board of Directors threaten the secular character of the state and the autonomy of the oldest higher education institution in Montenegro?
- Who manages the University of Montenegro today?
Guests of the Reflector: Rajka Glušica - president of the Board of Directors of the University of Montenegro, Damjan Ćulafić - state secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mara Šćepanović - full professor of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the UCG and Daliborka Uljarević - executive director of the Center for Civic Education.
