The standard of citizens, the increase in food and fuel prices... but also - safeguarding the Constitution, laws, electoral will... parties, each from their own point of view - defend their positions to schedule or not to schedule a session of the parliament.
Those gathered at the Committee for the Political System did not find a compromise this time either. The opposition and the "Black on White" coalition are demanding an urgent scheduling of the Assembly session
"We need to urgently unblock the work of the Parliament of Montenegro, to finally put on the agenda those issues that are in the interest of the citizens of Montenegro," said SDP MP Draginja Vuksanović Stanković.
And the MP of the Social Democrats of Montenegro, Boris Mugoša, asks not to block the work of the Legislative Chamber.
"While all other countries in the region are correcting the prices of fuel and foodstuffs for the third or fourth time, we have Montenegro, which has blocked the work of the parliament," he said.
MP of the Black and White coalition Srđan Pavićević said that the well-being of ordinary people is being threatened.
"And I think the priority is to tackle real life as soon as possible".
DPS MP Dragutin Papović assessed that "we are actually witnessing a coup d'état".
"Or a constitutional coup by the DF and their chairman of the Assembly, because thanks to their arbitrariness we have a suspended parliament. This is a criminal offense, the prosecution needs to react here," said Papović.
On the other hand, the Democratic Front and the Democrats claim that the Acting Speaker of the Assembly, Strahinja Bulajić, is not blocking that institution, but rather wants to forcefully convene the Assembly with the story of excise taxes and price hikes, where a new parliamentary majority would be established and the DPS, without elections, would return to valst.
"Is there a candidate for the President of the Assembly? Does he have 41 signatures for who will be the President of the Assembly. No. That is clearly the problem. We do not yet know who is the parliamentary majority. I reject that Strahinja Bulajić abused his position, the abuse will be drastic if anyone calls a session of the Assembly without him," said Democratic Front deputy Predrag Bulatović.
"The members of the opposition and some others failed to remove the vice-presidents from among the parliamentary majority, they failed to schedule an extraordinary session in February, when the hands of the acting president and vice-presidents were tied, they also failed to elect a vice-president from the opposition, they made three failures and now they expect someone to carry out a coup," said Democrat MP Momo Koprivica.
Deputy of the Democratic Front Slaven Radunović said that it is legitimate for some people to change their opinions, "but when such a signal is received, we go to the elections, the citizens are not deceived".
And while the DF and the Democrats repeat that Bulajić will schedule a session when a parliamentary majority is agreed upon, or when extraordinary elections are agreed upon, he says from the parliamentary conference on EU integration that everyone has a responsibility to ensure that the new government calms political tensions, but if a minority government is formed...
"I am afraid that it would be a factor in new divisions but also in the confrontation of all political and social actors," said Bulajić.
