An increased number of fires has been recorded in the past few days. A dozen mostly in the open area and what particularly worries us, we had an arson attack on the Gorica hill in the immediate vicinity of the Small Sports Stadium, for which we will file a criminal complaint against the unknown perpetrator because, as the commander of the Podgorica Protection and Rescue Service Goran Janković said in Colors of the Morning.
"We believe that there was a real intention to start a fire on that part, which is very specific and very difficult to put out, and to unfortunately damage Gorica for the umpteenth time, with the aim of destroying the flora and fauna," said Janković.
He points out that in about 90 percent of all fires that occur, the main cause is the human factor, especially in this period when spring work is underway on properties in open space.
"People simply don't take into account that a fire from their property can spread to an open space and a large-scale fire can occur, thus endangering primarily the lives of people, and then, of course, the property on that territory."
During the winter, there were several fires indoors, mostly in residential buildings.
"Unfortunately, we had two more serious fires when it came to residential buildings, and we reacted really quickly and showed the readiness and training of our members to prevent the spread of fire, and given that these are very demanding and specific fires when it comes to residential buildings and required is a special attention when it comes to residential buildings, because the fire can easily spread to other residential units and it can cause injury to the occupants of the building in terms of smoke inhalation, where people can suffer certain injuries due to swallowing a large amount of smoke, lose consciousness, and therefore endanger his life," said Janković.
