MER: The measure according to which only hotel guests can be on the beaches near Sveti Stefan and Miločer will be abolished

The Ministry of Economic Development (MER) believes that the opening of the City Hotel Sveti Stefan and Miločera is certain in the upcoming summer season, stating that the tenant would otherwise violate the contract and cause its termination.

As they told Television News, the opening cannot be related to the temporary measure recently adopted by the Commercial Court, according to which only hotel guests and not other tourists can be on the nearby beaches.

The Ministry claims that this temporary measure will be abolished.

While winter tourist centers summarize the results of the season at the end, all eyes are on the upcoming summer.

Uncertain for now, because, among other things, you cannot count on tourists from Russia and Ukraine, who make up about 20 percent of the total number of guests here.

MER are convinced that the most exclusive Montenegrin resort - the city hotel Sveti Stefan and Miločer will not be closed this summer.

The tenant of Adriatic Properties, Greek businessman Petros Statis, announced at the beginning of March that he is pleased to announce his intention to open the Aman Sveti Stefan resort for the upcoming season, after the Commercial Court issued a decision confirming the earlier decision on a temporary measure in favor of the tenant.

This measure, according to their interpretation, means that there are only resort guests on Kraljičina and Kraljeva beach and eastern St. Stephen's place, and not other tourists, like last year, when the resort was not working.

The department of Jakov Milatović, however, points out that they expect Adriatic's operations to follow a greater degree of respect for the cultural and historical heritage of Saint Stephen, and with a greater degree of inclusion of the indigenous population.

They also announce that the temporary measure of the Commercial Court will be abolished.

Due to the confidentiality of the proceedings, MER could not answer until the arbitration before the court in London, in which Adriatic is demanding 100 million euros, due to the alleged breach of contract.

In the meantime, Statis' company installed a fence on Kraljičina Beach, which the locals broke a year ago, only to release it for swimming by all citizens after a decade and a half.
