Miloš Medenica, the son of the former President of the Supreme Court Vesna Medenica, left Montenegro in December last year and since then has only come to the country once, Televizija Vijesti has learned.
As we unofficially learn, a warrant will soon be issued for him and the origin of his property will be checked, due to suspicion of cigarette smuggling and drug trafficking.
His mother, for now, is not a suspect, but her actions will be thoroughly investigated.
Miloš Medenica, who is being investigated for several serious crimes, left Montenegro in December last year, two days after the arrest of his friend, police officer Darko Lalović, who was the personal security of his mother Vesna Medenica, while she was President of the Supreme Court.
This is claimed by the interlocutors of Television Vijesti from the investigation, who add that since then Medenica has only entered Montenegro once for a short time and that was to attend the funeral of a close person.
Security services coordinator Dritan Abazović again rejects the accusations against the security sector due to Medenica's escape.
The police still do not answer our questions about this case and refer them to the Special Prosecutor's Office.
However, we unofficially learn that the case against Medenica was formed in mid-March, after EUROPOL submitted additional evidence against him.
At this moment, according to the interlocutors of Television Vijesti, the Special Prosecutor's Office has solid evidence on the basis of which an official investigation against Medenica will be launched very soon, and a warrant will be issued immediately afterwards.
At the same time, they will launch a financial investigation and determine the origin of his assets.
Medenica, according to messages via the Sky application, smuggled cigarettes and bought drugs, and claimed that his mother knew everything about it, from whom he could expect protection.
The Special Prosecutor's Office currently has no evidence that Vesna Medenica participated in criminal activities, but they claim that her actions will be analyzed in detail, and that she will not be spared if there is evidence.
Abazović sees the question of whether she also left the country as inappropriate.
The interlocutors from the investigation also explain that unlike Lalović, who is considered a member of the Kavačka clan who is credited with the murder of Miodrag Kruščić and the wounding of journalist Olivera Lakić, Medenica belongs to another criminal group, whose deeds have yet to be disclosed.
