Representatives of the Union of Education of Montenegro and Minister of Education Miomir Vojinović will meet on Thursday to discuss current problems in education, Radomir Božović from this union said in Colors of the Morning.
"Several topics are on the table, and we have yet to open the story. There will be talk about salary increases for educators as well as changes to the grant collective agreement. We are not starting the story about the grant collective agreement on Thursday, we are simply making a plan on how to continue functioning. Many things are have piled up. We expect more meetings," Božović said.
He states that the current issue is always the increase in wages, which they received through the Europe now program.
"However, we will seek to equalize with doctors and health workers".
Olivera Lekić from the Educational Union of Montenegro said that in October last year they addressed the then Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the Parliament and the Government with a request to pay for transportation and about 700 educators responded.
"We sent a request and didn't get a response. We started a petition to increase the coefficient and we have the signatures of 7.500 thousand female educators, but we didn't get a response to it either," she says.
Leković claims that he has the conditions for a salary increase.
"In December, when we sent the request, we all witnessed that on January 12, in the Assembly, everyone raised their hands in agreement to increase their salaries. They have paid transportation, a telephone, all possible benefits, which an educator does not have. Colleagues are contacting us, with They retired after 40 years of work experience, and their pensions are from 380 to 400 euros," says Leković.
They expect the new minister to build sound foundations, review employment.
"I am especially thinking of the people in the Institute and the Ministry, then the directors in the schools, and to check the diplomas," said Leković.
