Judge Stanković claims that he handed down judgments on the order of Medenica

The judge, in his capacity as a citizen, stated that on the order of the former president of the Supreme Court, he issued a verdict in favor of the Carina company, but also influenced the urgent scheduling of the hearing on the lawsuit filed by the workers of the "Simo Milošević" Institute.

The first-instance decision in the dispute between the company Carina and Pavle Popović, related to a debt of 20.000 euros, and the request to schedule a hearing as soon as possible regarding the lawsuit filed by the workers of the "Simo Milošević" Institute in Igalo - these are two new cases in which the Prosecutor's Office is investigating the possible illegal influence of the former president of the Supreme Court of Vesna Medenica.

That is why, as Television News has learned, Medenica was interrogated again yesterday before the special prosecutor Nataša Bošković.

Immediately after her hearing, the judge of the Basic Court in Herceg Novi, Jovan Stanković, who acted in these two cases, appeared before the prosecutor.

He, reports TV Vijesti, accuses Medenica of exerting influence on him and asked to schedule a preliminary hearing in the case of the Igalo Institute, as well as to issue a verdict in the case of the Carina lawsuit against Pavlo Popović, even though Popović did not respond to the lawsuit within the legal deadline, because, as referee suggests, delivery problems.

By the way, Medenica allegedly asked Stanković for all this during March of this year, when she was no longer in office and a month before her arrest. Stankovic, he says, obeyed in both cases.

"At that moment, I found myself in a very ungrateful position. If I had refused, I would have resented her, I understood that it could very easily create huge problems for me in the judiciary, and on the other hand, I would have opened up space for further pressure to have the case resolved as soon as possible ends, and which would certainly follow as soon as she became interested in him. And I made that decision, considering it the simplest solution at that moment, to remove that case from the office, and most importantly, to remove her from the agenda," said the judge Stanković to the plaintiff.

Judge Stanković claims that he regrets it, but that, ultimately, the parties in the proceedings have the right to appeal his decision.

"I can only justify this mistake by the fact that I, like all litigating judges in Montenegro, often "break" cases over the knee, especially when the parties avoid receiving cases or otherwise obstruct the proceedings. In these conditions, decisions are sometimes made with clear facts just to resolve the case, since there is constant pressure to resolve disputes, and often this is impossible precisely because of the parties who try to avoid responsibility in any way," said Stanković to the prosecutor.

It is said that he could not resist the pressure of Vesna Medenica, but in his testimony he says that he was pressured by the acting president of the Supreme Court, Vesna Vučković.

Stanković claims that on at least two occasions he received direct orders from her on how to act in certain cases, while she was a judge of the High Court or the Court of Appeal.
