The Prosecutor's Council (TS) today did not state whether the main prosecutor from Nikšić, Sofija Lukovac, acted professionally and according to the law in the case formed after father and son Đorđija and Vuk Mašnić were killed in a traffic accident on the Nikšić - Plužine road in 2018.
They asked for a copy of the case to be delivered to them, while the family of the deceased is asking for the prosecutor to be relieved of her duties.
Mašnići express their gratitude for the attitude of the Prosecutor's Council, which, they say, has recognized their years-long struggle for justice and truth in this way.
Đorđije and Vuk Mašnić died when they fell into a ditch from the part of the road where the upper part of the asphalt had been removed for reconstruction and died on the spot. Their family claims that prosecutor Lukovac and a police officer acted unprofessionally during the investigation of the accident and tried to cover up the responsibility of the contractor. The police officer was punished for a serious disciplinary offense because it was found that he falsified the report of the investigation by, among other things, drawing a warning sign about road works, which did not exist at the scene of the accident.
In their complaint, Mašnić also cited a series of, as they say, omissions made by prosecutor Lukovac.
One of the members of the Prosecutor's Council, Borivoje Đukanović, agreed that it is imperative that during traffic accidents, even with injured persons, a traffic expert is called, because it is uncertain whether the consequences will be fatal later.
If the documents show the claims of the Mašnić family to be true, there has been the grossest ignoring of legal provisions.
That's why Đukanović asked for copies of the case file to be delivered, which was agreed to by the member of the Council from the Ministry of Justice, Bojan Božović, who pointed out that, after considering the file, the department from which it comes can file a complaint against the plaintiff.
