On the eve of the new school year, the prices of school supplies remained at last year's level, according to the Institute for Textbooks. However, the Association of Parents emphasizes that more than 500 families need help preparing for the new school year this year as well.
Television Vijesti checked what you need to allocate the most money for so that the students enter the classrooms ready.
Although textbooks for primary school children are free again this year, parents will have to pay for school supplies, clothes and shoes before the start of the school year. The same awaits high school students who, in addition, have to pay for textbooks from 78 to 105 euros. The Institute for Textbooks says that the most money goes to new bags and pencil cases.
"Bags start at about 40, 50 euros, then pencil cases are 15, 16 euros, and other accessories are much cheaper. Here, for example, a pencil, eraser and sharpener can range from about 20 cents to a euro," he says. Dušan Petričević from the Department of Textbooks.
Petričević adds that there was no price increase this year.
Although the prices have not increased, this does not mean that everyone can prepare their students for the new school year. Thus, several hundreds of families were on the list of the Parents' Association, which helps equip students.
"We have over 500 families who are socially vulnerable, that is, who need additional support for their children for the new school year or some other kind of help during the year," said Tanja Ašanin from the Parents' Association.
