The overbooking of schools and kindergartens culminated in one group of 83 children

The beginning of the school year awakened the old, already existing problems of student transportation and overbooking of schools and kindergartens.

Kristina Mihailović from the Parents Association said in Colors of the Morning that the same thing happens every year and that children do not go to school at first because the parents decide to boycott.

"Children have to change different forms of transportation in the late evening hours. Today we will send questions to the Ministry of Education regarding the timetables, it happens that some schools have more buses, some don't have any. That part needs to be analyzed and some a different model of functioning," says Mihailović.

He points out that it is necessary for the municipalities to be involved in solving the problem, and that they have the opportunity to do so.

He adds that overbooking has culminated, not only in the central part but also in the municipalities on the coast.

"We have a problem in the kindergartens in Danilovgrad. There is a huge influx of people to Podgorica. We got a new school, but a small number of students were enrolled and transferred. The school does not have basic funds for work and furniture".

A similar problem exists in Budva, Tivat, and Bar.

"On the coast, there is a problem in schools and kindergartens. Ulcinj and Bar are waiting too long for new kindergartens to be built. There are a large number of children in groups, they tell us that one group has 83 children enrolled. In Danilovgrad, they have a nursery group where in 18 square meters there are more than 40 children," says Mihailović.

Mihailović states that they suspected that last year the duration of classes was not returned to 45 due to the problem of overbooking.

"Most schools have five shifts".
