To Šavnik before, from Šavnik after the elections - this is how one could describe the paths of many, when it comes to this Poddurmitor municipality, where 20 citizens with the right to vote moved from April 20 to October 341 this year.
"After the conclusion of the voter list, we have a trend that people are already starting to move out of Šavnik. So, 32 people submitted a request for a change of residence from Šavnik, and for the same period, i.e. after the election, only one person moved to Šavnik", says Radovan Popović from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
Popović says that the MUP, the police and the competent prosecutor's office are still conducting activities related to the investigation of numerous moves to Savnik, in anticipation of the elections, which were held on October 23.
"We have a large number of persons who have given notices in their capacity as citizens. The cases have been completed and have been handed over to the basic state prosecutor's office," says Popović.
When it comes to checking residence requests, the Šavnik police acted on an anonymous report from the citizens of Šavnik, and the requests of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pljevlja
"Informations were collected from 71 persons, including three MUP officers and one from the Police Directorate, as well as the necessary documentation from the Directorate for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners. Formed case files were submitted to the acting state prosecutor on October 21.10.2022, XNUMX. , and he will also be forwarded notifications from eight other persons, which were collected in relation to the subsequently submitted supplement to the application of the citizens of Šavnik," the statement of the Police Administration - Regional Center West of the Nikšić Security Department states.
In anticipation of tomorrow's third attempt to vote at three more polling stations, the police filed criminal charges for violation of voting rights for the previous two election days in Šavnik.
"On October 23.10 and October 30.10.2022, 12, during the election process in the municipality of Šavnik, 17 criminal charges were filed against 14 persons, and 50 criminal offenses were committed. On this occasion, notifications were collected from XNUMX persons," the UP announced.
Criminal acts refer to violation of the right to vote, preventing voting, and destroying voting documents.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also points out that their urgency to suspend the issuance of a decision for a change of residence, until certain checks are carried out, has borne fruit, that is, it has led to a reduction in moves to Šavnik, which have practically been absent since the election.
"All our doubts, which we had at the very beginning, that it was really election engineering, were confirmed in this way," said Popović.
On the eve of tomorrow's voting in three election places in Šavnik, the Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals to everyone to respect the regulations.
