The SDT has not yet completed the investigation against Ivanovic in the Abu Dhabi fund case

More than a year ago, the representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Petar Ivanović addressed his colleagues in the parliament like this when they removed his immunity so that criminal proceedings could be initiated against him due to alleged fraud during the distribution of money from the Abu Dhabi fund.

"I sinned, I did, And I will, at least I hope, make many people happy with my sweet sin. I sinned, I admit, I was not a flower. I also sinned for you, who were not allowed to, and now no one will part with my sin, and I would not gave it even if you wanted," Ivanovic said at the time.

And whether he was wrong or not, even 400 days were not enough for the Special Prosecutor's Office to determine. However, they promise to do so soon.

"After receiving approval for the initiation of criminal proceedings from the Parliament of Montenegro, with the order on the extension of the investigation, dated December 20 last year, the investigation was also extended against the deputy PI, for the extended criminal offense of abuse of official position. The investigation is in the final phase and the special prosecutor will is to end when he finds that the state of affairs has been sufficiently clarified, after which he is obliged to make a decision within 15 days," Vukas Radonjić, prosecutor and spokesman of the Special Prosecutor's Office (STP), told Television Vijesti.

The Special Prosecutor's Office suspects Ivanović that, as the former Minister of Agriculture, from 2015 to April 2016, he illegally obtained a financial benefit in the amount of over 30 thousand euros during the distribution of money from the Abu Dhabi Fund, intended for agricultural production.

SDT reminds that in March of last year they ordered the implementation of a criminal and financial investigation against eight persons and five companies, for unfounded obtaining and use of loans and other benefits, abuse of official position and abuse of assessment.

The office of the Protector of Property and Legal Relations told Television Vijesti at the end of September that the state's claims on five companies that have not returned loans from the Abu Dhabi Fund exceed ten million euros. These are Vektra from Pljevlja, HM Durmitor from Žabljak, IM Gradina from Rožaj, as well as Eko Per Šavnik and Milkraft Leche from Bijelo Polje.
