Yesterday, the second six-month term of Acting VDT Maja Jovanović expired and she cannot be re-elected because the Government withdrew the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on the State Prosecutor's Office, which introduces an unlimited acting mandate of the VDT, until the election of the VDT in the full mandate that she proposed Assembly, on the initiative of the Prosecutor's Council.
The withdrawal of the act occurred after the Government's Bill did not receive the support of the parliamentary Legislative Committee.
According to unofficial information, special prosecutor Sanja Jovićević and lawyer Milorad Marković applied for the position of acting VDT.
